How listings work

How listings work

Listings are compiled from public business listings and refreshed monthly. We show a company when it has a Google Business Profile in an excavation, land clearing, grading or demolition category within about 25 miles of a city we cover and passes our checks for real local businesses.

What is verified

The business exists on Google Maps, its category, rating, review count and listed hours at the last refresh.

What is not verified

Services, years in business, licenses, insurance, equipment, prices and service areas are the company's own statements unless marked otherwise. Treat them as claims.

Featured listings

A city page can show one featured company in a labeled box above the list. A company gets that box by claiming its listing and paying for the spot. The featured box never changes the ranked list below it: the ranking, its numbers and its order are the same with or without a featured company, and nobody can pay to move up the list. When no company holds the spot, the box says it is open.

What we filter out

Profiles on throwaway domains, profiles whose name does not match their website, groups of profiles sharing one identical service menu, batches of empty profiles created minutes apart, addresses inside big-box stores, and national chains and franchise listings. The number held out is shown on each city page.

How the price figures work

City price figures are recency-weighted medians of dollar amounts customers mentioned in Google reviews in the last 24 months (reports from the last 12 months count fully, older ones half), shown only when at least 8 reports exist for that service. They are mentions, not quotes, and most are whole-job totals. Amounts outside a plausible range for the service are excluded.

Report a problem

Email hello@excavationcompaniesnearme.com with the listing URL. Closed businesses are removed at the next refresh; wrong facts are corrected within a week.
